Acetyl L-Carnitine is essential for energy production in every cell of your body. It works by transporting fat, in the form of fatty acids, to the mitochondrial membrane where the fat is oxidized to produce energy through the conversion of fat to energy. Without Carnitine, the normal burning of fat cannot take place.

Acetyl L-Carnitine is the principal acetyl ester of L-Carnitine. A large body of scientific evidence points to the positive effects for weight loss if individuals consume Acetyl L-Carnitine. The main ‘claim to fame’ for Carnitine has been its involvement in the enzyme called Mitochondrial carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 (CPT1), which is found in our energy warehouse and drives fatty acid oxidation i.e. fat burning. The other benefit of acetyl-l-carnitine over plain old carnitine is its ability to benefit the brain. Acetyl-l-carnitine has potent neurotrophic and neuroprotective effects.

The acetyl form tastes better, dissolves better and may have an extra benefit from the acetyl component which may be involved in healthy nerve and neurotransmitter function.

Directions: For best results take 2 grams before, during, or directly after training. Don't let the smell turn you off, the right amount mixed into water only has a slightly bitter taste, like lemon water or powdered vinegar. Get on it - don't be a sook!
